低木地帯の風景に溶け込むようなものを作りたかったのです。 丈夫な植物が生い茂る砂漠地帯。砂色のブラウンと緑の色合いが見事に調和し、鮮やかな黄色がアクセントになっています

I wanted to achieve something that would fit into a scrubland setting.
Desert terrain with hardy plant-life. A sandy brown with shades of green work well together, complimented by a vibrant yellow.

ベースとマッチしたカラーの選択性を高めるようにしました

I tried to enhance the choice of colour with a matching base. 

私はカスタムガンプラのエアブラシグラデーションスタイルが大好きなので、エアブラシを使わずにそのグラデーションを再現したいと思いました。

I love the airbrushed gradient style of custom Gunpla so I wanted to recreate those gradients without access to an airbrush. 

すべてがうまくまとまったことにとても満足しており、自分のスキルを磨き続け、プロセスを改善できることにさらに満足しています。

I'm very happy with how it all came together and I feel even happier that I can keep honing my skills and improve my process.

改善点： 当初は、ハイライト部分を一つずつ作業し、その場で色を混ぜていました。しかし、パーツを組み立てる段階で、色合わせに問題があることに気づきました。 今では、次の色塗りに移る前に、すべてのパーツに同じ色合いを塗る方がより良いアプローチだと理解しています。

Area of improvement.
Early on, I worked through the highlights piece by piece and mixed colours on the fly. Then when I came to put the pieces together I noticed issues with colour matching.
I now understand that a better approach would be to apply the same shade to all pieces before moving to the next layer of colour.

改善点： この作品はうっかり上下逆さまに塗ってしまいました。塗装する際には、各パーツに光が当たる位置をイメージしながら作業するので、特定のパネルには重ね塗りをしています。組み立てる際に、上下逆さまに塗っていたことに気づきました。次回は、どのパーツがどこに取り付けられるかをもっとしっかり確認したいと思います。

Area of improvement.
I accidentally painted this piece upside down. As I paint I try to image where the light would hit each piece, so I give certain panels extra layers of colour. As I came to assemble I realised that I had painted it upside down. Next time I shall be more thorough in understanding which parts go where. 

改善点。 このマスキングの工程、本当に楽しかった。もしかしたらやりすぎたかもしれない。マスキングテープをはがしすぎて、反対側に塗料が付いてしまった。落ち着かないと。

Area of improvement.
I really enjoyed this masking step. Possibly too much. I over shot the masking tape and got paint on the other surface. I need to calm down.

家中に散らばっていた古い部品で土台を作ることができました。チョコレートの容器の蓋、庭の石、浴室のタイルの目地材などです。散らかる前に、模型と石を素早く配置して、ちょうどいい構図を探しました。

I was able to make a base from old bits lying round the house. A lid from a chocolate tub, stones from the garden and some bathroom tile grout. Before getting messy I quickly arrange the model and the rocks to find a nice composition.
