Recently finished this 1990 RX-78 for my collection. Was hard to find this very first High grade kit.
Very cool packaging and instructions.
Very easy to assemble, originally polished entire kit with 9000 grit.
Cool, but the face is too square as is. Needed to modify.
Has good side profile
Cut away some plastic to make the face more accurate to regular RX-78.
Looking much better now, but not happy with the glossy look.
Went ahead and applied matte top coat.
Finished result. It is an awkward looking gundam, but also a cool piece of history and helps complete my collection.

It’s nostalgic. I’m an uncle over 40, but I remember working hard to make it when I was in elementary school.
