Lightning Gundam Part 3: Fusion Bolt

ボルトはライトニングガンダムフュージョンに武装や飛行用装備を提供しており、それによって本機は戦場で恐るべき相手となる。

Bolt provides weaponry and flight gear for the Lightning Gundam Fusion, allowing it become a fearsome opponent in battle. 

そのエネルギーライフルは大きく、威圧感を放っている。間違いなく強烈な一撃を繰り出せるはずだ。

The energy rifle is large and imposing. It’s sure to pack a punch.

このライフルには、『AGE-IIマグナム』ガンダムおよび『ライトニング・バック・ウェポン・システムMk-III』のパーツが改修されて使用されている。

The rifle has modified parts from the AGE-II Magnum Gundam and the Lightning Back Weapon System MK-III

射撃時、ライフルは各部を展開し、熱や過剰なエネルギーを放出することができる。

When firing, the rifle can open up various components and discharge heat and overloaded energy.

「ボルト」の燃料タンクを「フュージョン」の後部下部スカートに装着することで、飛行時間を延長できる。なお、パート2で触れた通り、これらの燃料タンクは「MG アサルトシュラウド」の武装から流用されたものである。

The fuel tanks from Bolt can be attached to the lower rear skirt of Fusion which provides longer flight times. As mentioned in Part 2, the fuel tanks are taken from the weaponry of MG Assault Shroud.
 

バックパックによってモビルスーツのボリュームが大幅に増し、戦場において「フュージョン・ボルト」の存在感が際立つようになっています。

The back pack adds a lot of extra bulk to the mobile suit and makes Fusion Bolt feel very prominent on the battlefield.
 

このモデルの可動には難がありました。さまざまなポーズをとらせるのが難しく、また、破損させたり塗装を剥がしてしまったりしないか、非常に不安でした。

Articulation of the model was challenging. It was difficult to get into many poses. I was also very scared of damaging it or chipping the paint work. 

肩のフィンは展開して外側へスイングさせることができ、よりダイナミックな外観を演出できます。

The shoulder fins can open and swing out to create an even more dynamic look.
 

今回も、筆やメイク用スポンジ、アクリル絵の具を使って塗装を行いました。エアブラシを使わずに、目を引くような色彩豊かなグラデーションを表現できるよう、常に心がけています。

Once again, painting is done using brushes, beauty sponges and acryllic paints. I always strive to achieve captivating and colourful gradients without the use of an airbrush.

このプロジェクトの仕上がりには、この上なく満足しています。人目を引くような、印象的なものを作りたかったのですが、その目標を達成できたと感じています。

I am overjoyed with how this project turned out. I wanted to create something that is striking and impressive. I feel that I completed that goal. 

仕上げの要素として、「フュージョン・ボルト」のパイロットを描いてみました。名前は「フューシャ」といいます。可愛いでしょう？

As a final layer of completion, I decided to draw up a pilot for the Fusion Bolt. Her name is Fuchsia. She’s cute right?
