Trinity Rider

まずはお詫び申し上げます。愚かにも「風神丸」はSDシリーズの製品だと思い込んでいましたが、それは間違いでした。バイクに乗せるためのユニークなフィギュアを強く求めていたのですが、それまで彼のことは見たことがなかったのです。

Firstly, I apologise. I foolishly thought Fujinmaru was part of the SD range but I was mistaken. I really wanted a unique piece to ride the bike and I'd not seen him before.

「SD Trinity Bike」​​を目にした瞬間、一目惚れしました。『AKIRA』に登場するバイクを彷彿とさせるものがあったので、すぐに赤く塗装したいと思いました。

When I saw the SD Trinity Bike, it was love at first sight. I knew instantly that I wanted to paint it red because it reminded me of the bike from Akira.

あの有名なバイクの急停止シーン（スライド）を再現するのはとても楽しく、思わず笑顔になりました。多くのアニメスタジオがこのシーンをオマージュしてきましたが、自分もその一員になれたような気分を味わえました。

Recreating the famous bike slide was a lot of fun and bought a smile to my face. Lots of animation studios have referenced this and I felt like I became a part of that group.

金田がバイクに向かって歩いている映画のポスターはあまりにも象徴的なので、あれも再現せずにはいられませんでした。

The movie poster where Kaneda is walking to his bike is so iconic I had to recreate that too.

正直なところ、塗装の工程を少し急いでしまった部分は否めません。実際、バイクの塗装を終えた後、風神丸の白いエッジハイライトを入れる作業を完全に飛ばしてしまったほどですから。

I must admit that I kinda rushed some of the painting. So much so that after I had finished the bike, I completely skipped the white edge highlight for Fujinmaru.

絵の中で、あまり満足のいっていない部分はいくつもあります。でも、それらはそのままにしておくことにしています。

There are various areas of painting that I'm not very proud of. But I'm happy to let those slide. 

今回のプロジェクトを通じて、今後の製作ではアプローチを変えてみたいと思うようになりました。すでに、これまでの手法をどう改善できるかというアイデアがあります。どうぞご期待ください。

This project has actually made me want to change my approach for future builds. I already have an idea of how I could improve on my formula. Stay tuned.
