ライトニングガンダム 第2部：サポートユニット「ボルト」

ボルトは素早く、俊敏だ。ロックオンしようとしても、そう簡単にはいかないだろう。

Bolt is rapid and agile. Good luck trying to lock-on. 
 

機首部分は、よりスリムな形状になるよう改修されている。機首の先端にはエネルギーライフルが装備されており、これは「AGE-IIマグナム」から流用されたものだ。

The front has been modified to make it a little more slender. There is an energy rifle at the nose of the aircraft. This is taken from the Age-II Magnum and mounted at the front.

ボルトには増設燃料タンクが付属しており、これによって長時間の飛行が可能となる。機体下部に装着される燃料タンクは、「MG アサルトシュラウド」の武装に由来するものだ。

Bolt comes with added fuel tanks which can allow for prolonged flight. The fuel tank mounted underneath is from MG Assault Shroud weaponry.

その形状により、このサポートユニットは非常に速そうに見える。

The shape makes this support unit look incredibly fast.
 

翼の角度は、さまざまな方法で調整できる。

The angle of the wings can be adjusted in many different ways. 
 

2つのユニットで色調を統一しつつ、新たな色を加えて視覚的な面白さを出したいと考えました。オレンジと相性が良さそうだったので、赤を取り入れることにしました。途中で気が変わったこともあり、一部のパーツは何度も塗り直すことになりました。

I wanted the two units to have a matching colour scheme but also introduce a new colour to add visual interest. I decided red would compliment the orange. Some parts have been repainted numerous times, as I had a change of heart.

2台を並べてみると、その規模感がわかります。Boltはかなり大きいです。もしかするとFusionよりも大きいかもしれません。

With the two units side-by-side you can get a sense of scale. Bolt is quite big. Possibly bigger than Fusion.
