ライトニングガンダム・フュージョン

カスタムビルドを目にすると、「うわ、かっこいい！自分もこんなことができたらいいのに」と思うことがあります。そこで今回は、そうした願いを叶えられるような作品を作ってみることにしました。

When I see custom builds I think to myself, “man, that's cool! I wish I could do that.” So this time I tried to create a piece that would fulfill that desire.

見た目が素晴らしく、かつ手頃な価格のHGキットを探し回った。ライトニングガンダムとAGE-IIマグナムを、手頃な価格で偶然見つけました。

I hunted for HG kits that look awesome and are affordable. I happened upon a Lightning Gundam and an Age-II Magnum for a good price.

バックパック／サポートユニットも購入しました。これについてはパート2で公開します。現在まだ製作中ですので、どうぞお楽しみに。

I also bought a backpack/support unit, which I will reveal in Part 2. This is still in production, so please look forward to it.

ミックスの仕上がりには大満足です。全体にまとまりがあり、自然な構成になっていると感じます。制作の過程に興味がある方は、ぜひ開発に関する投稿をご覧ください。

I am ecstatic with the results of the mix. I feel the build is cohesive and has a natural shape. Please look at the development posts if you're interested in the build process.

このプロジェクトにおいて重要な要素の一つは、いくつものグレーの色調に合わせる、鮮やかで大胆な色を取り入れることでした。その役割に、オレンジは最適でした。

An important aspect of this project was a vibrant and bold colour to accompany a number of grey tones. Orange was perfect for that.

絵の仕上がりには、この上なく満足しています。なお、すべての工程は手作業で行われており、筆やメイク用スポンジを使用して描いています。

I am overjoyed with the outcome of the painting. Again, all painting is done my hand, using either a brush or a beauty sponge.

今回はエッジハイライトを入れないことにしました。これなしでも塗装の仕上がりは十分通用すると思いますし、作業量も抑えられます。

I decided to not add an edge highlight this time. I feel that the paint job holds up without it and also cuts the workload.

全体として、非常に満足のいく結果となりました。この前向きな流れを、プロジェクトの次のフェーズにもつなげていければと考えています。
