Cherudim X Striker – 葛藤

プライミングとベースレイヤーの段階ですが、複雑な気持ちです。進捗状況を投稿にまとめようと思いました。

まず、カラーモックアップを作成しました。古い写真をPS4で編集しただけです。今回は青にしてみましたが、皆さんの配色はどう思いますか？もっと暗く仕上がると思います。

次に、プライミングとベースコートを塗りました。ここが少し迷っているところです。色々な要素が絡み合っています。Gustavキットの塗装工程をほぼ踏襲していますが、プライマーをCitadelからArmy Painterに、塗料のブランドをTTCombatからVallejoに変更し、スポンジも新しくしました。これらの変更によって仕上がりが変わってしまい、Gustavほどうまく仕上がらないのではないかと心配しています。Gustavは初めて本当に満足のいくカスタムペイントだったので、その雰囲気をCherudimでも引き継ぎたいと思っていました。

次のレイヤーでもっと良い仕上がりになっているといいのですが。  

今回も、このビルドのためにユニークなベースを作りたかったんです。今回はケルディムを飛行させるポージングができるようにしたかったんです。ランナーエッジとカップヌードルの蓋を使ってアクションベースを作りました。どうやって覆うかはまだ決めていません。チャリティショップで古いおもちゃを見つけて、それを切り刻んでデブリとして再利用できるか試してみようかなと思っています。

最後に、GN-Xの武器を改造しました。すごくかっこいいんですが、とにかく大きい。切り刻んでパーツを繋ぎ合わせました。あと、GN-Xのショルダーキャノンを銃底に取り付けて、隙間を埋めました。

今の複雑な気持ちは、今の期待値の高さから来ているのでしょうか。気楽な気持ちに戻らなきゃ。

I’m at the priming and base layer stage but I’m having mixed feelings. I just wanted to get those feelings down into a progress post.

Firstly, I have done a colour mock-up. I just used my old photos and edited them in PS. Going for blue this time, what do you all think of the colour scheme? I think it will turn out much darker.

Next, I primed and added a base coat. This is where I’m conflicted. There’s a lot at play here. I’m pretty much keeping my process from the Gustav kit. However, I’ve changed the primer from Citadel to Army Painter, the paint brand from TTCombat to Vallejo and a new sponge. It’s all adding up to a different finish and I’m worried it might not work out as well as the Gustav. The Gustav was the first custom paint job that I was truly happy with and wanted to keep that vibe going with the Cherudim.

I’m hoping that the next layer looks better. 

Again, I wanted to create a unique base for this build. This time I want to have the opportunity to pose the Cherudim in flight. I’ve used runner edge with a cup noodles lid to create an action base. I’m undecided on how to cover it. I might try and see if I can find some old toys in a charity shop to chop up as debris.

Finally, I modified the weapon from the GN-X. It’s really cool but soooo big. I chopped it down and connected the parts. I also added the shoulder cannon from the GN-X to the bottom of the gun to fill in an awkward gap.

I wonder if my mixed feelings come from a level of expectation I have now. Got to get back to being carefree.
